One Click to Transfer Your Android Phone's Data [2020]

By Nathan E. Malpass, Last updated: April 24, 2020

"How to do an Android file transfer on Mac? Are there any useful phone transfer toolkit?"

The advent of the smartphone like Android easily replaced the traditional computer and laptop as a personal gadget. Unlike the computer which is typically set in its static location and a laptop which is too bulky to fit in one’s palm or pocket, an Android phone is conveniently mobile and portable to be carried everywhere, the way we do with our pocket or traditional notebook.

But a smartphone like an Android device is more than just “smart,” it offers everything that we would need in a gadget that aids us in our day-to-day lives such as in communication, research, finance, entertainment, etc. It is literally capable of so many things at once, it is essentially the “Swiss knife” of modern technology.

You can only imagine that for something so useful—and now more accessible, more capable, and more affordable—the smartphone makes for everyone’s perfect companion wherever they may be. As a result, the blueprint of our daily lives is often left in it, like a diary that we must keep up-to-date or, at least, do so unwittingly because the process only comes naturally.

TIPS:

What Does the Idea Actually Mean? How to Quickly Transfer Your Data?

What Does the Idea Actually Mean?

It only means that many of our important affairs or transactions are stored in a single tiny device which records everything that we do as part of its inherent mechanism. Unless you are an average user who literally nothing important to look back into with his smartphone, the idea may seem negligible. But if you are a person whose keeping abreast in his daily transactions with his gadget is as important as work itself, then that is something worthy of reckoning.

For instance, you could be a person who uses a smartphone to conduct business as part of work, be it making or receiving calls from clients or business partners or even as simple as sending over or receiving text messages. Otherwise, it could be recorded audio, a film, still or moving images, or any other form of data at all, each of which having significance to your job or just life in general.

Transfer Important Data From Android

But knowing software data and how prone they are to corruption or how volatile they are to just vanish; you would want any of these important data to be copied—or backed up—somewhere secure, possibly for future use in case the unexpected happen to your data.

Yet, data corruption from the source is but just a single possibility to a few other ways you could lose your files in split seconds.

For example, there is a likely chance that you could lose your smart device itself, which is the host of your important data. Unless you have the luck of ever finding it back, such a loss could insinuate you also losing your valued data permanently. Another is when somebody pried in your privacy and choose to delete the files themselves which, while rare, may actually happen.

How to Quickly Transfer Your Data?

It goes without saying that the need to back up our important files is always imperative which you should opt to do so whenever possible. Although the way to do so may either be proprietary in nature or generic, there is one truth to both processes—having to connect your smartphone to a computer via wired means can be, in today’s day and age of convenience, a hassle.

The method of backing up your data via generic means may be the easiest option while the proprietary means can be restrictive and stringent to certain rules. Capitalizing on the convenience of the former, there is an app which makes the transfer of data from an Android device to a Mac computer easy as in just “one click” of a button if smoothly configured—the FoneDog Android Data Backup & Restore.

How to Back Up Your Data?

The process of making a backup of your important files from Android—contacts, messages, call logs, gallery, videos, audio, and documents—is actually a simple and straightforward process:

1. Download and Install FoneDog Toolkit for Android

The FoneDog Toolkit for Android app is not native to the MacOS computer. As a third-party software, it necessitates the need to be downloaded from the source and be installed manually to the computer. This software is essential in playing the role of the mitigator between two distinct devices. For a smoother experience, ensure that no other “backup application” that might cause a conflict is running in the background.

2. Run the Application and Connect your Android Phone to the Computer

Once installed, run the FoneDog Toolkit for Android and plug in your Android device. This will create an environment where the MacOS will recognize the Android phone, possibly with the aid of driver tools which are auxiliary in the overall process.

3. Do a Test Run

The FoneDog Toolkit for Android is not fond of confusing its consumers with a complex interface when the app’s intended purpose is identified and clear cut. As such, as soon as you run the app, a simple interface will present itself which displays intuitive imagery for the transfer process.

On the left side, it shows an interface aimed at the facilitation of the data transfer from an Android phone to a Mac computer while the right side shows an interface aimed at the complete opposite (a transfer of data from a Mac computer to an Android device or basically a restoration of whichever files were backed up in the computer back into the phone).

Do A Test Run

But there are two buttons to click which does the exact same thing, only with some variance: Device Data Backup and One-click Backup.

Device Data Backup is an option that lets you choose whichever file types you would like to transfer to either to the computer or to the smartphone. One-click Backup, on the other hand, lets you do the transfer seamlessly with just a single click on its button.

4. Backup Completion

Unless you are transferring a large file, the typical backup process should be expected to be short and something which would be notified about by the application itself.

How to Restore Your Backup Data?

The restoration of backed up data, too, need not have to be a complicated process.

With the application running and the Android device connected to the Mac computer, restoring your backup data is as simple as choosing the option “Device Data Restore” on the app’s interface.

From there, choose whichever available data you have stored as a backup.

Again, depending on the size of the files you’re restoring, this procedure, too, does not need to be a lengthy process.
